I had a nice day | gothgrrrl's Blog

Can anyone tell me when "meeting someone" becomes a "date". Cause I met someone today. And I don't think when me set the date for meeting we were thinking of it as a date. Just to explain the situation... I've got a friend who's in Israel at the moment. She's doing a volunteer year there and well before she went to Israel she broke up with her boyfriend. I got to know her boyfriend when they were still together and we got on quite well. Because we were just ... sort of alike. We're both vegetarians - and the only vegetarians we know -, we both like the same small football club in Germany that hasn't got too many fans, we both like to play computer games and so on. There was lots of stuff to talk about. After they broke up we lost touch a little but on the German version of facebook we stayed friends and some time ago we started writing messages again and then decided to meet. So when I told one of my best friends about that today she was like "What? You're going out with your friend's ex?" And I was busy telling her that it was not like going out at all, that we just have a lot in common and sort of wanted to meet. But some time during the evening I think we were getting close to ... a date. We met at 3:15 pm and we went into some café. And two hours later we left the café and went into another café. And three hours after that we left the café and went into a bar. And now it's 12:22 am and we parted about 30 minutes ago, a little more. We had a really good time, we always had something to keep the conversation going and we laughed a lot. And there was one moment when I wanted to kiss him, because he was so sweet... He's 23 and he's never drunk wodka. And I always drink wodka in bars and we were in a bar and so he tried something from my wodka and he right away started to cough. So what's the point now? I guess he's someone who could be a really good friend of mine. I know, everything will think now: "Gee, she's fallen in love again..." I fall fast and hard, I know. And I think I could fall in love with him and I don't think it would be a bad perspective. He's definitely nice, definitely sweet and we got a lot in common and we had a really funny day. So ... who knows... in all this mess I produce ... maybe there could evolve something easy... When we talked about things we've already done and things we want to do he said that he wanted to experience a "summer of love". And I agreed.
